RONKONKOMA RAILWAY STATION

The office of Richard Henry Behr, Architect PC, designed this railway station and transportation hub for the Long Island Railroad. Mr. Elias was responsible for the design and construction detailing of the station house interior and the detailing of the buildings' envelopes. He also designed and detailed site constructs and furnishings that included planters, benches and paving.

The design of the station house interior was coordinated with the building's mechanical systems to conceal duct work and other appurtenances and maintain the look and feel of a 19th century railway station. Modern features such as bullet-proof ticket counters were seamlessly integrated into this historically-themed facility.
